Skin Needling, Dermaroller Therapy, Medical Skin Needling and Collagen Induction Therapy
Skin Needling can be known as: Dermaroller Medical Skin Needling, Dermaroller Therapy, Medical Skin Needling and Collagen Induction Therapy it is a relatively new concept of skin rejuvenation treatment that helps to significantly stimulate collagen to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and wrinkles. Skin needling is an aesthetic beauty treatment that prompts regeneration and repair to the skin.
The treatment consists of using a Derma Roller which is a simple hand held sterile barrel shaped roller which comprises of tiny surgical micro-needles which when rolled over the top layer of the skin creates tiny pin pricks marks which does not damaged the skin but which in turn stimulates collagen production, therefore, this process has also been referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy. By creating tiny holes the skin is able to absorb creams and lotions to maximise results. The tiny minute pin prick punctures close over almost immediately as the skin heals. The aim is to create a controlled injury underneath the skin surface which encourages the body to produce new collagen and elastin which generates new healthy skin cells. The papillar layer of the skin is where collagen and elastin fibres are produced and where the dermal micro needles are designed to reach.
Following treatment natural healing and regeneration of the skin takes place and the creation of smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin is achieved once the micro needles have pierced and pricked the skin. The skin in due course becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful.
This treatment is excellent for filling out fine lines and wrinkles, depressed acne scars and also surgical scars not only on the face but also on the body, although micro needling is primarily used for the face. Medical Skin Needling reduces the appearance of pox marks on the face caused by chicken pox, and is a recommended technique for the reduction of acne scarring on the face and body, including acne scarred areas on the back. It is also used for the treatment of stretch marks on the thighs and abdomen, it is a fantastic process which helps and encourages the skin laxity which results in healthier skin. It responds equally well on all skin types.
